The Maksimir park is one of the biggest parks in Zagreb

Maksimir is one of the neighbourhoods of Zagreb, Croatia. Maksimir stadium and Park Maksimir are located in it. It was named after the bishop Maksimilijan Vrhovac.
The "centre" of Maksimir neighbourhood is the Kvaternik square, named after Eugen Kvaternik. The square is now being renewed, so there will be built an underground parking complex which will solve part of the Zagreb's traffic problems. The local newspapers are called "Maksimir, moj kvart" (in croatian: Maksimir, my neighbourhood).
The Maksimir park is one of the biggest parks in Zagreb, it also contains a Zoo (which is the seccond biggest one in Croatia) and five lakes also called the Maksimir lakes.
